the first WAIMH congress to be held in Germany in Leipzig is nearing with the central theme of “Infancy in Times of Transition”. The dead line for submitting abstracts has been extended to 15th November, 2009. We warmly encourage you to submit an abstract concerning your work, be it research or clinical, and share your knowledge and experiences in our World Congress.
The Congress fee includes four official congress days, and the precongress day on June 29th. In addition to plenary lectures there are three plenary interfaces in the program. A plenary interface is a playful debate of two professionals representing different points of view over a case presented by a clinician. The Leipzig congress is the third WAIMH congress with plenary interfaces, which in previous congresses have produced a stimulating and interesting discussion. The social program includes among other things a concert in St. Thomas Church where Bach has worked for more than 25 years. The program of the concert will include music from Johann Sebastian Bach (Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden, BWV 230, Fürchte dich nicht, BWV 228) andJohannes Brahms (Missa canonica, WoO 18, Warum ist das Licht gegeben den Mühseligen, op. 74 Nr. 1).
You can also use the public transport system of the City of Leipzig during the congress conveniently without additional cost. For taking you to Leipzig, Lufthansa offers reduced price for flight tickets.
Please distribute this note for all your colleagues and friends interested in infant mental health.
We look forward to seeing you in Leipzig!
Antoine Guedeney, Paris, President of WAIMH
